The word of God promises that "those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not be faint" (Is 40:28-31, NKJ). In the opening pages of this booklet Daniel Johnson comments: 'There is a transcendent strength promised for those who learn to wait on the Lord; strength, not primarily for the physical realm, but in the much higher and deeper realms of the soul and the spirit...At times, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual demands of serving the Lord are overwhelming. Every servant of the Lord must be prepared for this and learn to draw his strength from the Lord Himself.' What a glorious promise! Who would not want to come into the experience of such a blessing? And yet, all to often we fall short of the experience of what is offered here, either because we do not have an adequate understanding of what it means to wait on the Lord or we allow the pressing needs of our responsibilities to overide this most important of all priorities.

This booklet is a very helpful aid for learning what it means to wait on the Lord that we might be those who experience His love, grace, power and strength for the life we are called to live. It is a practical guide to what Christians commonly refer to as a 'quiet time.' In an easy to read style, Dan Johnson lays out the principles that are foundational for establishing and maintaining a quiet time that really works. Are you hungry for spiritual reality and inner renewal? This booklet will help you understand how to connect in a vital way with the Lord.

Dan Johnson is the father of 6 children and has taught New Testament at the Evangelical Institute of Greenville, South Carolina for the past twenty-five years.
